Couples Pregnancy Yoga for Birth Preparation
This workshop is an opportunity for you and your partner to cultivate awareness, understanding and enjoyment of the birthing process. The presence and support of a partner is powerful for labour and birth. In this workshop, partners gain greater understanding of how to support the birthing mother with confidence, sensitivity, and calm. ![]() Through the practice of yoga, couples increase their connection with their bodies, their unborn baby, and each other. Yoga helps ease the fear of labour by empowering women to listen to their bodies and trust the natural and beautiful birthing process. ![]() This class covers breath work and gentle yoga postures to be used through each stage of labour; discussion of aromatherapy, acupressure/reflexology and natural pain relief methods; vocal toning; meditation influenced by Kundalini yoga; and foot massage. Couples also learn comfortable birthing positions and how to use the birthing ball. ![]() Couples learn guided meditations based on Hypnobirthing concepts to cultivate greater relaxation and natural pain relief. Calm and flexibility ease the birthing process, increasing the joy of giving birth to a new life. Beneficial at any point of the pregnancy. ![]() Please join Patricia Grube, Prenatal Yoga Instructor, and other couples for 2 hours of fun, laughs and relaxation. No yoga experience required. This workshop is intended to be as a complementary resource to the antenatal classes already given by the Hospitals.
