This pregnancy yoga for birth workshop is an opportunity for you and your partner to cultivate awareness, understanding and enjoyment of the birthing process. Through the practice of yoga, couples increase their connection with their bodies, their unborn baby, and each other. Yoga helps ease the fear of labor by empowering women to listen to their bodies and trust the natural and beautiful birthing process.

Couples will also be guided through partner yoga (Venus Kriya) to keep them emotionally connected through the transition into parenthood. Emphasis on movement and pranayama (breath) to help women easily progress through labor and a pain-free birth.

Please join Patricia Grube, Prenatal Yoga Instructor, and other couples for 2.5 hours of fun, laughs and relaxation. No yoga experience required.

Patricia teaches private and group Childbirth Education classes. She offers an Intensive birth-preparation class done over two sessions.

Classes are tailored to meet your specific birth plan i.e. Hospital or Homebirth, VBAC or Planned Cesarean. The childbirth classes will help you gain insight and understanding of the birth process; hospital procedures and interventions; choices in childbirth; practice labor positions and learn tools for coping with pain; and how hormones influence labor/birth process.

Partners are welcome, as they often provide critical support emotionally and physically during labor and birth.

The information is presented in a non-biased way. Rather, this the "Active Birth" approach is one where the laboring mother is an informed and empowered with knowledge and confidence in her ability to give birth normally. Our hope is that you will make choices along the way that suit you both physically and philosophically.

Class activities also include video presentations and elements of Birth Art activities inspired by the book Birthing From Within by Pamela England.

To assist in your journey through birth, Patricia can be hired as a birth doula at www.serenitybirth.com.

A doula offers continuity of care based on the individual needs of the mother, partner, and circumstances, which may include physical (non-medical), emotional, and informational support, gentle touch, positioning, and comfort measures that nurture and care for the laboring mother in her process through birth.

Numerous clinical studies show that the presence and support of a doula tends to:

  • Reduce the duration of labor
  • Lower the need for pain and induction medications
  • Reduce the likelihood of cesarean section
  • Create overall greater satisfaction for the parents
